  • Total Time: 6 hours 10 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients

Yellow potatoes, 907 g (about 2 lb)

Yellow onion, 120 g (1 medium)

Smoked sausage, 340 g (12 oz)

Cut green beans (canned), 2 cans (14.5 oz each)

Unsalted butter, 113 g (1 stick)

Italian dressing seasoning mix, 0.6 packet

Salt, 1 tsp

Black pepper, 0.5 tsp

Garlic powder, 1 tsp

Onion powder, 1 tsp

Smoked paprika, 1 tsp

Instructions

1-Build the base: In a slow cooker, toss quartered potatoes with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and diced onion to coat evenly.

2-Layer it up: Layer sliced smoked sausage over the potatoes, top with drained green beans, and sprinkle with Italian dressing seasoning mix; do not stir.

3-Add butter: Place a whole stick of unsalted butter on top; do not stirβ€”the butter will melt and infuse the layers.

4-Slow cook: Cover and cook on Low for 6–7 hours or on High for 3–4 hours until potatoes are fork-tender.

5-Serve & enjoy: Gently stir to combine, then serve warm, optionally with crusty bread to soak up the juices.

Notes

πŸ’‘ Swap the smoked sausage for kielbasa, andouille, or chicken sausage to customize the flavor profile.
πŸ’‘ Use fresh or frozen green beans instead of canned for a crisper texture and brighter color; add them straight from the freezer without thawing.
πŸ’‘ Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes for a spicy kick that pairs beautifully with the smoky sausage and Italian dressing flavors.
