Instructions

1-First step: make the cream cheese spread Add 1/2 cup cream cheese, 1/2 cup shredded double Gloucester or sharp cheddar cheese, 2 tablespoons heavy cream, and 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt to a food processor. Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy. This spread adds richness inside the sandwich and helps give the filling that soft, velvety texture.

2-Second step: mix the garlic spread In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup mayonnaise, 1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic, and 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt. Stir until the mixture is well blended. This garlic spread goes on the outside of the bread, so it can toast into a crisp, flavorful crust.
