🍤 Creamy, indulgent one-pan dinner with plump shrimp, pillowy gnocchi, and fresh spinach in a velvety Parmesan sauce.
⏱️ Ready in under 30 minutes with minimal cleanup — the perfect weeknight comfort meal that feels restaurant-quality.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb peeled and deveined medium shrimp (fresh or frozen, thawed)

2 cups packed fresh spinach, roughly chopped

16 oz potato gnocchi (shelf stable or fresh)

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

Instructions

1-Sauté garlic: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, add minced garlic, and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds, without browning.

2-Cook shrimp: Add shrimp in a single layer, cook 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque, then remove to a plate.

3-Wilt spinach: In the same skillet, toss in chopped spinach and cook just until wilted, about 1 minute, then remove to the plate with shrimp.

4-Make creamy Parmesan sauce: Pour heavy cream into the skillet (optionally deglaze with white wine first) and bring to a gentle bubble. Reduce heat to low, slowly sprinkle in grated Parmesan while stirring constantly until smooth and thick. Season with red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.

5-Cook gnocchi in sauce: Drop gnocchi directly into the sauce without pre-boiling; stir gently to coat. Simmer about 3 minutes until gnocchi float.

6-Combine and serve: Return shrimp and spinach to the skillet, toss together, and let rest off heat for 2 minutes. Serve immediately with extra Parmesan on top.

Notes

🧀 Always grate your own Parmesan cheese — pre-shredded varieties contain anti-caking agents that can make the sauce grainy.
🔥 Cook shrimp in a single layer without overcrowding to ensure a beautiful sear instead of steaming.
⏲️ Do not skip the 2-minute rest after cooking — it allows the sauce to cling perfectly to the gnocchi and shrimp.
