๐Ÿฅฉ Melt-in-your-mouth tender brisket slow-cooked in rich, smoky BBQ sauce โ€“ ultimate set-it-and-forget-it comfort food!
๐Ÿ”ฅ Hands-off cooking delivers smoky, caramelized BBQ flavor without firing up the grill!

  • Total Time: 10 hours 15 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

– 1.5 to 2 kg beef brisket

– 1 tablespoon olive oil

– 1 tablespoon brown sugar

– 2 teaspoons paprika powder

– 1 teaspoon onion powder

– 1 teaspoon garlic powder

– 0.5 teaspoon cumin powder

– 0.75 teaspoon mustard powder

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

– 2 minced garlic cloves

– 0.5 cup apple cider vinegar

– 1.5 cups ketchup

– 0.5 cup packed brown sugar

– 2 teaspoons black pepper

– 2 teaspoons onion powder

– 2 teaspoons mustard powder

– 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

– 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

1-First step: Get everything ready Start by gathering all your ingredients and measuring out the rub and BBQ sauce. Pat the brisket dry with paper towels, because a dry surface helps the seasoning stick better. If your brisket has a thick fat cap, trim a little of it if needed, but do not remove all of it. That fat helps keep the meat moist during the long cook.

2-Second step: Make the rub Mix the brown sugar, paprika powder, onion powder, garlic powder, cumin powder, mustard powder, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl. Stir until the color looks even and the spices are blended. Rub the brisket all over with the olive oil first, then coat it generously with the spice mix. Press it in so it sticks well.

3-Third step: Build the BBQ sauce Place the minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, packed brown sugar, black pepper, onion powder, mustard powder, cayenne pepper, and Worcestershire sauce into the slow cooker. Stir everything together until smooth. This sauce may look simple, but after hours of slow cooking, it becomes deep, rich, and packed with flavor.

4-Fourth step: Add the brisket and start cooking Place the seasoned brisket into the slow cooker and spoon some of the sauce over the top. Cover the lid and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours. The exact time depends on the size of your brisket and your appliance, but the meat should become very tender and easy to slice. For 1.5 kg brisket, you can also cook it for about 4.5 hours on high if you are short on time, though low and slow gives the best texture.

5-Fifth step: Check for tenderness When the brisket is done, it should feel soft when pierced with a fork. If it still feels firm, give it more time. Brisket needs patience. That long cook is what turns a tough cut into juicy slices. If you are using a thermometer, the internal temperature should sit in the 195 to 205ยฐF range for that tender, sliceable finish.

6-Sixth step: Simmer the sauce Carefully remove the brisket from the slow cooker and set it aside on a tray. Pour the sauce into a saucepan and simmer it until it thickens a little. This step concentrates the flavor and gives you a glossy sauce that clings beautifully to the meat. Stir now and then so it does not stick.

7-Seventh step: Roast for a caramelized finish Heat your oven to 200ยฐC. Place the brisket in a roasting pan and roast it for 15 minutes. Then baste it with the thickened sauce and return it to the oven for another 5 to 10 minutes. This final blast of heat gives the outside a sticky, caramelized surface that makes each slice more exciting.

8-Final step: Slice and serve Let the brisket rest for a few minutes, then slice it against the grain. That means cutting across the lines in the meat, not along them. This helps each bite stay tender. Spoon the BBQ sauce over the top and serve it while warm.

Notes

๐Ÿฅฉ Choose well-marbled brisket or rolled chuck for juicy, tender results after long cook.
โฑ๏ธ Internal temp of 195-205ยฐF ensures shreddable texture; adjust time for brisket size.
๐Ÿ”ฅ Broil or grill finish adds smoky char โ€“ brush with sauce right before.
